Porsche GT4 Driving Coach

The Cayman GT4 is a momentum car disguised as a sports car. Stop fighting the chassis and start carrying the speed.

Driving the GT4 at Laguna Seca

Whether you are in a 981, 718, or a Clubsport MR, the GT4 platform requires a very specific driving style. It does not have the rear engine traction of a GT3 out of Turn 11, and it demands high minimum speeds through Turn 4 and Turn 6.

If you over-slow the car, you lose the lap. If you transition poorly over the crest at the Corkscrew, the mid-engine layout will catch you off guard.

GT4 Specific Coaching Focus

  • Brake Release: 718s have incredibly capable brakes, but drivers often overlap pressure too deeply, causing corner-entry understeer.
  • Minimum Speed: Trusting the aero and chassis balance through T6 (Rainey Bend) and T9.
  • Setup Diagnostics: Ride height rake, sway bar adjustments, and wing angle optimization specifically for Laguna Seca.
  • Cosworth / MoTeC Telemetry: Native analysis of Clubsport factory data to separate driver inputs from vehicle dynamics.
